A meeting was organized to compile National Rail System Standards, aiming to provide a framework for developing a Standard Development Plan for Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (Public Organization).
On February 8, 2024, the Standards and Testing Research and Development Unit of Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (Public Organization) or RTRDA, under the chairmanship of Dr. Sathian Charoenrien, Advisor to the Agency, convened a meeting to prepare the RTRDA’s Rail System Standards Development Plan. The meeting took place in Meeting Room X03, located on the 10th floor of KX Knowledge Exchange Building in Bangkok, and was conducted via the Online Zoom system as well.
Consultants and experts were invited to attend the meeting to provide their academic knowledge, offer suggestions, and support information regarding the preparation of standards. Discussions during the meeting focused on prioritizing the preparation of railway system standards to align with the objectives of the RTRDA’s establishment and the policies of the Ministry of Transport. The essential goal was to develop a standard development plan for the railway system, encompassing research and development efforts related to railway system standards, railway testing systems, certified standards, and quality assessment. These standards would be instrumental in the RTRDA’s application for a license to operate a rail transport business.
