RTRDA and KU Rail have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CRRC Qingdao Sifang, Southwest Jiaotong University, and the National Innovation Center of High-Speed Train for "Personnel Development to Support High-speed Rail Technology Transfer."
The signing ceremony was held in Qingdao, People's Republic of China. At this prestigious occasion, the Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (RTRDA) was represented by Mr. Darun Saengchai, Asst. Prof. Pisit Saeng-Xuto, and Mrs. Ketwarong Hongladarom, all esteemed committee members of RTRDA. Leading the team from Kasetsart University was Dr. Wichai Siwakosit of KU Rail. Distinguished representatives from CRRC Qingdao Sifang, Southwest Jiaotong University, and the National Innovation Center of High-Speed Train were also in attendance. The MOU aims to develop curricula for rail system manpower development and facilitate the transfer of high-speed rail technology, including organizing training for stakeholders in the Thai rail sector by Chinese rail experts.
On November 27, 2023, RTRDA in collaboration with the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, CRRC Qingdao Sifang and KU Rail, organized a training program on "Key Technologies of High-Speed Trains for Southeast Asia." This training was divided into three main topics:
(1) Historical Background and High-Speed Rolling Stock Components
(2) Operation, Maintenance, Testing, and Manufacturing
(3) Track and New Rolling Stock Technology
This was marked as the beginning of collaborative efforts and has conveyed the cooperation to date in transferring knowledge of high-speed rail technology and developing manpower rail system.
After the signing ceremony, the delegations attended "4th International Conference on Vehicle Design 2024" where Chinese railway experts presented the application of modern design technologies to add value to industrial products.
