RTRDA observed the Installation of Noise Barriers designed for High-speed Railways. During the visit, the production process of soundproof wall panels and other essential components utilized in the project were thoroughly inspected. The primary objective is to establish testing standards for rail systems and improve domestic production standards for rail system components.
On February 6, 2024, the officials from the Standards and Testing team of the Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (Public Organization), led by Dr. Dr. Sathian Charoenrien, an advisor to RTRDA, visited to inspect the installation of noise barriers for high-speed trains. Subsequently, a meeting was convened to facilitate discussions and gather feedback on the layout and implementation of civil and trackwork standards. This collaborative endeavour involved General Engineering Public Company Limited (GEL), situated in Bang Kadi District, Pathum Thani Province.
The primary objective is to assess the production capacity of domestic operators in the rail system parts sector. The company specializes in customizing noise barriers for high-speed trains. Furthermore, they have proficiency in manufacturing and installing segment box girders for double-track railway projects along the Bangkok-Nakhon Ratchasima route. Additionally, they engage in manufacturing concrete sleepers for railway tracks and operate a subsidiary company dedicated to producing steel wire used in concrete pillows.
From this discussion meeting, the company recognized the significance of developing a compilation of rail system standards and testing protocols for rail system parts and products within the country, where RTRDA is predominantly working on. They also expressed their readiness to support and collaborate in exchanging technical information with RTRDA.
