RTRDA Head Office, in collaboration with EIT, convened a discussion to outline guidelines for the establishment of safety standards and testing protocols for the railway system.
On February 13, 2024, Rail Technology Research and Development Agency (Public Organization) or RTRDA and Engineering Institute of Thailand or EIT, under the guidance of Dr. Sathian Charoenrien, Advisor to the RTRDA, and Associate Professor Siriwat Chaichana, Vice President of the EIT, along with a designated working group, convened to discuss the formulation of safety standards and testing protocols for railway systems. The objective of this collaborative effort is to enhance the reliability of rail system services, encompassing standards for fire safety and testing protocols for air conditioning systems. Following this discussion, the EIT will organize a meeting with the working group of the EIT Standards Group to enlist experts who will undertake the development and proposal of additional standards pertinent to the rail system. These standards will be presented to the RTRDA for consideration in subsequent phases. The aim is to establish a standard development plan for RTRDA in the next stage.
